Don’t leave pets in your car!  Outside temperatures as low as 72 degrees can heat up a car’s interior an average of 40 degrees within an hour, with 80% of that increase in the first 30 minutes. Cracked windows provide little relief from this oven effect.

B.A.R.K. (Be Aware, Responsible, and Kind)

BARK is a dog bite prevention program offered by the National Association for Humane and Environmental Education (NAHEE), an education affiliate of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).

The goal of the program is to help children learn how to be safe around dogs, reduce the number of dog bites experienced in the United States each year and enhance the bond between people and dogs.

The program covers tips, such as how to approach a dog, the best way to pet a dog, and why you should not run away from a dog.  There are fun activities for the children, including coloring pages aimed at educating children how to avoid being bitten.

Creatures and Kids adds a unique spin to the program, by bringing in Therapy Animals to interact.

And don't forget the BARK pledge!    (Click on the paw below)
